Important Announcement

As some of you may be aware, my publisher, Torquere Press, is closing. I am currently waiting to get my rights back, so I can republish my current works and continue publishing new ones.

If you were planning on purchasing any of my writing, I would ask that you wait until this change is complete—don’t worry, there’ll be an announcement!

My current plan is to self-publish the two existing Undead Canadian novels (and the upcoming one, My Zombie Wedding. I’ve almost gotten the first draft finished, guys!). I’ll be releasing the two Undead Canadian short stories—My Zombie Mixup and My Zombie Cat—along with two previously unpublished shorts as a small collection. Amber, Crossed Wires, and Lock and Key will be republished as stand-alone novelettes. Char, Lighthouse, and Delphinos will be published as a collection.

I’m also branching out—or maybe going back to my roots, to use another plant-based expression. Beginning with Belladonna, I will be publishing M/M erotica under the pen name Lee Fisher, so look for spicy reads coming at you.

I’m now offering freelance proofreading services—find out more here.

As for the other new projects I’m working on…we’ll just have to see where life takes me, and them.

Thank you for your patience, and thanks to all of you who’ve supported me and enjoyed my writing over the years. This isn’t an ending; it’s a new beginning.

I’ve just started a newsletter! Sign up here if you’d like to keep track of new releases, receive exclusive coupons and giveaways, and get sneak peeks of what I'm working on.

Amber...Teaser?

Does it still count as a teaser if I make it months after the story was published?

Anyway, I made this teaser for Amber. (I realize that it looks terrible because of the sidebar of my blog, and I'm sorry!)

This section is one of my favourite interactions between Teague (sentence one and three) and Anthony. Even after dealing with an abusive ex and the madness of being a popular musician, Teague is still the poster boy for Glass Half Full.

Anthony, on the other hand, is The Glass Is Empty And Broken And It Just Cut My Hand And I'm Bleeding And I Can't Tell What Colour My Blood is.

Neither of them can fully understand the other's perspective. They have a connection, but it's not their outlook on life--at least not at this point in the story.

A-Z Challenge: A is for Amber

Amber was my first published work with its own cover, so it seems like a good way to start my A-Z Challenge!

Blurb: Anthony was a painter until he lost the ability to see color. Worse than color blindness, the edges of objects and people blur together, making it almost impossible for Anthony to interact with anyone or anything. After retreating from the world for decades, he sees a glimpse of yellow that leads him to a musician, Teague.

At first Anthony is frightened and overwhelmed by the color, but he can’t stay away from Teague for long. He finds the courage to confront Teague and explain his unusual problem and Teague’s role in helping him. To Anthony’s relief, Teague believes him. Very quickly, they both realize that getting colors back may be more important to Anthony than his relationship with Teague. If Anthony pushes too hard, he’ll lose Teague, and possibly the colors, forever.
